Overview

The Asgard takes its cues from curves and shapes in Nordic and Viking design (hence the name) mixed with a '70s feel.

The body is two-piece Douglas fir, with the grain pattern exaggerated rather than flattened. It features a subtly-sparkled smoked perspex pickguard and brushed aluminium control plates sweeping across the body, offset with two genuine NOS '70s knobs.

Bridge duties are taken care of by the Zona Bifrost Bridge; with its aluminium plate construction and large surface area it offers a huge increase in resonance over more conventional designs. Zona's hand-wound pickups provide clear bell-like tone and optimum flexibility of sound.

Overview

The Fenrir is our first production bass. Named for the wolf in Norse mythology, this one is a beast.

It features a hand-wound humbucking pickup that has one coil configured similarly to a J Bass but with 5mm AlNiCo 2 magnets and a second coil configured with fat 9mm AlNiCo 5 magnets. This is then run through an onboard pre-amp with +/- 12dB bass and treble controls. In addition to that, the pickup has a blend wheel to mix between coils. This gives a whole spectrum of sound options from a minimum of controls.

The Fenrir is available in either weight-reduced oak-fronted pine or ash. It features a custom Zona Aluminium Bridge and a choice of neck options.

Overview

The Isca is our semi-hollow model.

With this model, we have sourced the most sustainable woods possible: the body is constructed out of douglas fir (which has the same acoustic properties as Southern yellow pine but can be found in the UK and Northern Europe) with a front of English oak for a crisp, bright resonance. The default neck is cherry, which has very similar properties to Canadian maple and looks gorgeous.

All the usual pickup options are available but our suggestion is a 35 in the neck and a 23 in the bridge since these work incredibly well in this model. The body is bound on the front, features a round-over on the back for enhanced comfort, and is hollow in both the top and bottom wings (so is super light). It features a top-strung Zona Bifrost Bridge and the control plate has a 2-volume and 1-tone layout with a 3-way blade switch.

Overview

The Sulis is inspired by British guitars from the '70s. We wanted something punchy with a lot of focus and the Sulis is effectively a rock/punk/new wave machine that could be capable of much more.

We've taken the Zona 35 hand-wound pickups and altered the winding, utilsing an aluminium front rather than the brass caged design, and these changes pull in the range to give a much tighter sound. The Sulis has a whole new aluminium bridge and is available with different body and neck options.
